It would not leave you any different as the earnings from a rental have always been taxable in any country, including Spain.
Also as far as we know the new rental laws, which is mainly to make properties safer and better for the people renting them, may not affect long term rentals? I like a good website and being able to do everything on-line and have an on-line secure office to see our taxes and having the option of English spoken advice is good too. Does anyone know the costs of obtaining the rental licence i have tried to download the forms but with no luck ! March i did ask out rental issues but was given no information. When this topic was started in July 2015 it was said that it was illegal to advertise a property for short term let without a special rental license which would ensure that the property was safe – Does anyone know if this law is now in place? Yes all the regional Governments have introduced something similar and it has been a legal requirement for over a year now to register your property for holiday lets in the Valencian Community. You will also need the Catastral Reference number for the property. You can register in person at the office in Alicante and they will give you the licence and registration number there and then or alternatively it will come by post to your Spanish address.
All our properties have been registered and the licence number is displayed on our website and advertising as per the law.
